IF Theme: Imperfect

Well it has been awhile since I completed an illustration for IF. While doing some research for this one I came across a really inspiring quote...
"My weaknesses...I wish I could come up with something. I'd probably have the same pause if you asked me what my strengths are. Maybe they are the same thing."
- Al Pacino
This made me think about certain paradoxes and humility in nature. The turtle is a perfect example. Its strength is equally its weakness.

Though this would be a neat idea to explore for this weeks theme.  I really like how the textures came out. All critiques welcomed. Thanks!

Decided to do my own take on the great story of Moby Dick. This story has always intrigued me as well as the unknown within the vast seas.

Moving toward a more gritty rendering technique...Faux silkscreen via photocopier and heavily muted palette. Had a lot of fun making this one and like where my voice is heading.

At work the other day I saw a gentleman who had a bald head and an old-school handlebar mustache. He reminded me of those old circus posters depicting muscle men. I started with that imagery and was on my way. All critiques welcome!!
